TAILORED EXPERIENCES
ANCIENT MALTA
What to expect
Inhabited since 5900 BC, Malta was originally home to several civilizations before the Phoenicians arrived in 700BC. With only handmade tools, one ingenious tribe conceptualised, quarried and built the fascinating Megalithic Temples between 3600-2500 BC, making them older than both the Great Pyramids and Stonehenge. Next stop is the Hypogeum, a 5000 year old underground burial chamber containing a temple, cemetery and funeral hall. The tour can be tailored to visit the important sites as well as offer an opportunity to participate in an active dig.
ART & ARCHITECTURE
What to expect
From Caravaggio’s canvas to Mdina Glass, form and function are the bedrock of Malta. You’ll see the classic paintings, national treasures, medieval walls, the famous glassworks and our Renzo Piano-designed Parliament and late starchitect Zaha Hadid’s final commission.
We will show you the best examples of Maltese architecture and decoration. Notice brightly painted balconies, cheerful doorways and unusual door knockers. An icon of Maltese style, the door knockers are as much a social statement as they are a creative expression.
FAMILY FRIENDLY EXPERIENCES
What to expect
Families come first. We design fantastic programs based on age, interest, length of stay and the weather. Why not visit the National Museum of Archeology accompanied by a real archeologist? Make delicious pastizzi with a pastry chef? Participating in a family scavenger hunt around Valetta or cool off in an afternoon at some beautiful beaches? Tell us about yourselves and we’ll plan the memories.
FOOD & WINE
What to expect
This is the perfect opportunity to taste olive oils, pastries, award-winning wines, craft beers, artisan jams, freshly caught fish and local meats. We’ll introduce you to the farmers, bakers, fishermen, butchers and brewers and winemakers throughout the tour to learn about the heritage and traditions passed down through the generations. In addition, we’ll visit our favourite markets, restaurants, fruitiers and chocolatiers to end the day on a sweet note.
SICILY
What to expect
Sicily is reachable by short a short 30 minute flight or an hour and a half ferry ride. Our terrific guide meets you at the airport or ferry landing in Pozzallo and will show you the highlights of Bella Sicilia; Taormina, the Greek amphitheater, mighty Mount Etna, the sparkling seaside city of Syracuse and taste the flavours of Sicily's finest cuisine.
JEWISH MALTA
What to expect
Jewish communities have lived and thrived in Malta on and off for over 2,000 years. We’ll show you the important sites of immigration, worship, community, trades, and contemporary Jewish life.
MALTA AT WAR
What to expect
Our strategic location in the middle of the Mediterranean meant we were a prime target for Phoenician, Roman, Norman, Moorish, Napoleonic and British navies in their quest to control the seas. You’ll see battle sites from the Great Siege of 1565, Napoleon’s invasion in 1798, suits of armor, historic military maps and even watch the daily canon blast high atop Valetta’s harbour from the Saluting Battery.
ROYAL MALTA
What to expect
A long list of royal families have found relaxation and refuge in Malta. Beginning in the Victorian era up until Prince William’s recent visit, the Maltese have welcomed British, Sicilian, Russian and Swedish royals to our serenity, safety and sunshine. We’ll take you to the palaces, gardens, villas and social spots of the European dynasties and explain why, even after 60 years, we keep a soft spot for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who lived here as a newlywed in the late 1940s.
ON THE WATER
What to expect
If you ask us, the best way to see Malta is from the water. Let us organize a speedboat, sailboat, catamaran or yacht and show you a different way to look at the skyline, harbor, busy port and catch sparkling sunsets. Vessels can be accompanied by a guide, partially or fully catered with entertainment on board.
